Why Birthday Flowers Make a Birthday Extra Special
By Sandy MacGregor

Buying a birthday present isn’t easy - how many times have you ended up going out and buying something boring just so that you have something? In today’s society when people seem to have more and more, it is becoming increasingly difficult trying to find an extra special gift for someone.

It’s happened to us all at one time or another, however recently I received some birthday flowers, which made me realise there is a wonderful solution at hand to make a birthday extra special.

Flowers are the perfect way to show someone they mean a lot to you on their birthday. Flowers can be bought right up to the last minute and are so much better than some generic gift. Flowers are personal and can be customised to fit the personality of the recipient.

A great advantage of flowers is they go with everything. Whether you’ve bought a box of chocolates, a pair of tickets or a teddy bear, adding a bouquet of flowers to them increases the personal nature of your gift and makes a birthday extra special.

Very few people consider giving people as a birthday gift, which will make your present even more unique and special to the recipient.

Be careful not just to choose any set of flowers though - taking time to do a little bit of research and choosing the right flowers can make the gift even more meaningful.

A number of factors must be considered, such as their age, budget, gender and your relationship with them.
If you are buying for your wife or girlfriend, you can’t go wrong with red roses - although these are often quite expensive, nothing says “I love you” like the romantic gestures of surprising her with some red roses. Whether you opt for a single red rose or a bouquet of up to 50 red roses, they are bound to be well received and to make that special person in your life feel extra special.

If you really aren`t sure which flowers to choose, consider going with longer lasting flowers like daisies, mums or carnations which will stay fresh and lovely for several days to a week. That way the recipient can enjoy them for a long time.

If your goal is to make someone smile and feel special, you can’t go wrong with birthday flowers. They can be bought online from a number of leading UK retailers and will be delivered next day directly to the recipient.

For more information on Birthday Flowers and advice on picking the best set of flowers for a birthday visit Birthday Flowers, where you will find recommendations on buying the perfect flowers for various categories of people. Half Birthday Party - The Solution For Kids Who Have Birthdays During the Holidays
By Daphne Bousquet

Did your children get the shaft because they have birthdays during the holidays? “No, of course not,” you say. “They got plenty of gifts. We spent ourselves into the poorhouse last Christmas.” No doubt, but did your child get to spend his birthday party with his friends like your other child did? Maybe not. It probably was so hectic that a birthday party was not in the cards.

Well here is a solution that is gaining popularity. It can reduce your holiday stress and double your fun. It is called the half birthday. Instead of having a birthday party on the actual birthday around the busy holiday time, you have a birthday party at the ½ year mark. And there are advantages of having a half birthday.

Since the half birthday falls in summer, you have many more options for birthday parties. An outdoor party is so much nicer than having everyone cooped up inside. You can have that pool party they were never able to get. You can take the party to the park, or out in the backyard. There are so many more options in summer. Just don’t forget to make back up plans, just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Relax during the holidays. By all means, celebrate the birthday during the holidays with cake and gifts, but you don’t have to feel guilty about not going all out. After all, that birthday party is coming in summer. You will have more time to really make your child feel special.

You get to spread out the expenses. When all the credit card bills hit in January, you will be glad the birthday party was not part of it. It is much better to have some expenses in December and some in June, rather than all at the same time.

Of course you can have the pool party, but why not play up the half birthday? Having a half birthday theme is half the fun. Imagine this: your table is dressed in half a tablecloth, balloons are everywhere but blown up only half way and all your other decorations are cut in half. The top of a Happy Birthday banner hangs in 1 area and the bottom in another. Blow balloons up only half way for decoration and you can cut all your other decorations in half. Hang the top of a Happy Birthday banner in 1 area and the bottom in another. In the background the sound track plays songs that stop in the middle. When you sing Happy Birthday, suddenly stop in the middle of the song. You can have guests wrap only half of the gift. How about some half party games? Three legged races are perfect for this kind of party. There are many other games that can be adapted for the half theme. Maybe half a relay or an egg race with eggs cut in half. The possibilities are endless.

The half birthday party makes good sense. So reduce your stress during the holiday season and opt for the half birthday party. In this case, half a birthday party doubles the fun.

Birthday - Right Day To Make Resolutions
By CD Mohatta

We all make New Year resolutions. We draw a long list of what to do and what not to do on the New Year eve. And manage to break most of the resolutions within one to two months. A birthday is only for celebrations. What if instead of making resolutions on New Year we make them on our birthdays? New Year is common to all, but birthdays are individual, and the resolution may therefore have a lasting impact.

These are my resolutions on my birthday. I wonder about how many readers will agree with them, but please read on. I will become a good person now onwards. I know that I am already a good person, but I will try to make myself better. I will not hurt anyone with my words or deed. I will be compassionate towards all and will control my anger as much as possible. I will release my love to all and keep my hatreds and dislikes to myself. I will try to do a work that gives me money but also gives something to the society. I will help everyone who I can help. I will work truthfully and be honest in my dealings with my co-workers even if that hurts me. I will try to donate to charities as much as I can and I will try to join some volunteer organizations to help society. I will pray for all and make confessions to God about my mistakes everyday. I will forgive all who hurt me and forget past acrimony. I don’t know when death will approach me, so I will always be alert about my actions and act in the way that pleases my maker.

How about making some ecards with such resolutions and sending them to our friends on our birthday? We would be receiving lot many ecards on our birthday. In response, we can send a thank you card and add these resolutions or something else like this and send back to let others know of our resolutions? Birthday is the right time to make resolutions and improve our life.

By CD Mohatta

The days when everything was free on the Internet are slowly becoming history. Today if you want something good, you have to pay on the Internet. You can still get beautiful birthday ecards that are free and some times better than paid ecards. Let me tell you how to select them.

Make a quick search for birthday ecards on a good search engine. Click on some websites and read the terms carefully. Are the ecards totally free or it is only for a trial period. Select websites that offer totally free.

JPG and Flash Birthday ecards - don’t send JPG ecards. They are one of the earliest designs and the better ones are available only in flash. Use flash ecards of decent size. Don’t take very small size. JPG ecards have one advantage that the user need not have flash player on his/her computer. But with popularity of flash designs most of the users are having flash players on their computers.

Design Selection - Use designs that look decent and are light eight. ecards filled with many animations look over crowded and don’t look good. Go for subdued designs.

Free Birthday ecards are a boon for Internet users. You save money on burying printed cards, paying for postage and the labor of posting them. Free birthday ecards can be sent with a single click and cost nothing. What more can you ask for in Free Birthday Ecards?

Striking Fun With Bowling Birthday Party Supplies
By Patti L.

Lots and lots of birthday party themes are strictly for kids. Once in a while, one comes along that can work for a birthday for ‘kids’ of all ages. Bowling birthday party supplies fill that need. Sure, all these great party items will be perfect for your 5 year old’s birthday celebration. But these would be equally right for the 50 year old in your house.

Start off the game right with a Bowling Deluxe Pack. It holds plates, cups, napkins, placemats, balloons, and tons more partyware. Add a personalized Bowling birthday banner, streamers, wall decorations and some Bowling Mylar balloons to the party room and you are all set for the guests.

For a kids party, remember to get some Favor Boxes. Each one holds a bowling pin keychain, a bowling shirt notepad, crayons, a miniature gumball machine, and more. You know, come to think of it, the older crowd might like those, too!

Your Bowling party couldn’t be complete without a Mini Bowling Party Game Set. With 10 1″ plastic pins and a metal ball, this game provides tons of fun. Kids from 5 to 50 will find it a challenge. You can set up a miniature bowling alley in a jiffy and assign teams. Just make sure the family cat is nowhere nearby when you start to play!

Once the game is over, gather everyone into the den and set up the Bowling Pin Pinata. Fill your pinata with a variety of toys and candy that guests will appreciate. Get set to take some pictures of all those happy faces when the goodies come tumbling down.

Get a Birthday Message Camera. It comes pre-loaded with 35mm film and has its own built-in flash. When the photos are developed they show 1 of 6 pre-printed messages at the bottom. They’re so easy to use that even young children can handle one. You can mail them inside the Bowling Thank You Notes you send to the guests after the party is over.

Now it’s time to throw your own strike. Time for cake and refreshments! With the Bowling Pin Sipper bottles, the very funny looking Bowling shirt shaped dinner plates and a whole bunch of Bowling Pin Candles, you are all set up. Light the candles and let the birthday guest of honor knock them down with a mighty gust of wind.

Set up your pins and shine your bowling shoes. Polish your ball and get ready for a celebration. Whether you’re planning a celebration for your little one or your spouse, you’ll win the championship when you use Bowling party goods!

Off to the bowling alley for another round of bowling fun!

5 Steps to Planning a Fabulous First Birthday Party
By Joe Boujja

Follow these 5 simple steps to throw a fabulous 1st birthday party for your child.

1. Timing:

Most parents like to schedule their kid’s first birthday party around their child’s nap and meal time. A two hour event is usually long enough to do all that’s needed for a first birthday party in this case. Increasingly though, I have seen more and more families throwing a much larger bash for a first birthday party. These are usually prolonged parties, serving meals, hiring entertainment and even renting party halls to hold the party. This a great way to share quality happy moments with your friends and family. Do not expect your baby to go through all of the activities. For an enjoyable time, try not to break your child’s routine of food, change and sleep. You may be extra busy, but your baby should come first. That should cut down on the level of stress to you and to your child. Designate a family member early on to help with this task. If your child is very attached to you, you should delegate some of the party tasks to friends and family. Your baby will look at you for comfort in this changed environment. It’s important that you stay calm, as your baby will sense any signs of stress in you and start to get fussy.

2. Party theme:

A party theme will help you organize your event more efficiently. A common Theme makes shopping for your event much easier, plus it adds a sense of harmony to your general party atmosphere.

3. Plan activities for the kids. Fun party games related to your theme. Hiring a professional kids’ entertainer will pay great dividends.

4. Simple foods for the kids, like pizza and finger foods are usually more than enough. For adults, variety is the spice of life.

5. A slide show of your baby’s photos or video clips set to music is a great way to share the child’s first year of life with your guests. If that proves to be difficult, then a simple collage of printed pictures gluded onto a color poster board will do the trick. Hang the poster above where the cake cutting will take place. This a great way to share your baby’s development with your guests.

Keeping Colleagues Happy With Birthday Ecards
By CD Mohatta

Sending birthday ecards to colleagues to express your friendship and care, is one of the easiest ways to show your warmth and feelings for them. Most of us operate with colleagues. Few people work from home, but even they have some business contacts. Otherwise one can expect a team of ten or more working together in a modern office. The goal of the team is to achieve common goals. To do that it is important that the atmosphere is friendly and cheerful. One most important element is care. If I feel that my colleagues care for me, I appreciate that much more than any thing else.

Most of are always busy with our work and that makes us forget important things in life. Remember urgent always takes precedence over important. That is the reason most colleagues forget birthday of their co-workers. Here is the easy way out. Make a sheet with names of all the co-workers and circulate that in the beginning of the year. Ask everyone to fill in their name and birthday. Now prepare photocopies of that sheet and pass one to everyone.

This will ensure that no one will forget the birthday of a co-worker. On his/her birthday, as soon as they start their computer and check mail, they will be delighted to find the inbox full of greeting cards. Select ecards with warm colors and

the text should appreciate their qualities. Rather than selecting a card saying only happy birthday, select the ones that also have nice words to say about them. For example a ecard that says - we all appreciate your work and friendly spirit. Here is wishing you a Happy Birthday- will make the recipient feel much better.

Every business thrives if the people working are happy. Create the much needed happiness and atmosphere of friendliness with birthday ecards. Imagine two offices - one full of highly efficient people but no spirit of friendship and another with people of medium talent but great friendship and care for each other. Which place will produce better results? Make your choice. Keeping co-workers happy with birthday ecards is the easiest way to say - I care for you and I am your friend.

Helping You Plan the Perfect 21st Birthday
By Mike Selvon

Birthdays mean so much more than a birthday present and cake; each one is special in its own way and there are many milestones throughout life. The birth of your new born, the tween years, sweet sixteen and of course the magical 18th birthday when your child is old enough for most things, but not all. Everyone must wait for the 21st birthday to get it all and feel like the world is our oyster.

You are no longer daddy and mommy’s little girl or boy. Most look forward to this day when they will be ready to get out and spread their wings. With all of this in mind shouldn’t this birthday be something really special? Why not have a birthday celebration that will be remembered for years to come? It is a time of transitioning from child to adult.

For your party planning endeavors, perhaps consider something like inviting guests to come dressed as what they wanted to be when they were children. For example, if someone had originally wanted to be a policeman, then rent a uniform; or if they wanted to become the first dancing ballerina on the moon dress in a tutu and space helmet or something similar. This can be a great way to celebrate a 21st birthday and everyone will get a real kick out of seeing what everyone else originally wanted to be when they “grew up.”

Or for a different idea and one that will add a little excitement to the birthday bash, have the invitations advise the guests to wear exactly what they were wearing when they opened the invitation. Naturally, if you were not wearing anything there might be a slight problem showing up in your birthday suit and even some pajama’s may be a little on the risky side, just use your best judgment and everyone will enjoy a great birthday.

Consider having a formal theme where the guests wear tuxedos and ball gowns while competing in some type of ballroom dancing contest. Check into having a dance teacher come to the party during the first half to offer suggestions and moves to the guests before the contest. Another great idea for a 21st birthday celebration is to have everyone dress from the 20s including mobsters, gun molls and flappers.

Perhaps you can locate some imitation Tommy guns that would be perfect for your roaring 20s party. What about using feathered masks for the women and black Zorro masks for the gentlemen for a great masquerade party or ball, with an unmasking that takes place at the end of the evening.

A whole world of information about the 21st birthday eagerly awaits you from Mike Selvon portal. Visit us for more 21st birthday cards you will ever need.

Birthday Quotes - Bringing So Much Hope
By Bhawna Saini

‘The best birthdays of all are those that haven’t arrived yet.’ ~Robert Orben

Each year when we blow out the candles on our birthday cake, we wish for a better life. Life right now might be going good, or might be bad. But we wish for something better. Something better still.

Birthdays give hope. We believe our birthday marks the advent of a golden year ahead. We hope to get a better job. We hope to get a better bank balance. We hope for better quality time with our partners. We hope for the world to understand us better. Better clothes. Better house. Better friends.

This feeling of hope is what I find the most beautiful in birthdays. As if birthday promises to give us anything we wish for. Doesn’t matter if life’s bestowing upon us harsh treatment, we believe everything will get better by our next birthday.

American Poet Lucy Larcom feels the same about birthdays,
‘Whatever with the past has gone, the best is always yet to come.’

Robert Lynd, the Irish writer, agrees that there isn’t a greater joy than a birthday,
‘Most of us can remember a time when a birthday - especially if it was one’s own brightened the world as if a second sun has risen.’

Father Larry Lorenzoni, though puts it lightly, implies a deep meaning to birthdays,
‘Birthday’s are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.’

Many of us find birthdays intensely disappointing. We crave to live under the delusion of being younger; or hate being labeled as ‘in ‘late’ thirties.’ Believe me, figures apart, there’s so much more to birthdays. You can treat it as a beginning. Or treat is as the dawn of rejuvenation of life. Or treat it as the time when you’ll compel yourself to come out and take new challenges. And never bother about aging. After all, you can compensate for ‘growing old’ by not ‘growing up.’

Bhawna is out-and-out a quote lover. The author thoroughly believes in Caldwell O’Keefe’s quote ‘I never have found the perfect quote. At best I have been able to find a string of quotations which merely circle the ineffable idea I seek to express.’ And thus the author keeps craving more and more quotes.

Toddler Birthday Party Ideas
By Ingrid Lee

I love coming up with great toddler birthday party ideas. It is so much fun planning a special party for your little one. Especially as they reach the age of understanding what’s going on. My son is 3 and I can say that all three of his birthday parties had cute themes and were so much fun.

That is the ultimate goal. You want your toddler to have a blast and you also want all the guests to leave just as happy. Moms and Dads it can be so much work planning a birthday party but it can also be so much FUN. They only turn 1 or 2, once in their little lives so let’s make it memorable.

What should be the THEME of the Birthday Party?

  • You first must pick out a theme for the party. Usually this can be rather simple. The rest of the planning becomes easier because you know where you are going and what you have to work with. Does your toddler have a favorite book or movie? What is there favorite television show? It could be that they like cars or trains or horses. This is the best place to start. Remember you want to pick what they like or are into for that moment. It’s their party and their day. It will make it more exciting to see their favorite character all over at their birthday party. Your child will usually give you the best toddler birthday party idea and theme to come up with. So Have Fun choosing the correct theme.
  • Don’t worry if you pick the same theme that say a friend of yours did. You can change up your party and make it different. Relax just choose what your toddler wants and the rest will go smoothly.

How many guests should I INVITE to the Party?

  • If your toddler has friends from daycare or neighbors and you know that your child really likes them definitely invite them. Someone told me once that you should invite one friend for every year of your child’s age, plus one. Now I never really followed this advice because at my son’s First birthday he had 20 children attend. I loved it but you may not. The choice is ultimately up to you. Remember that along with the children you invite a parent will stay at the party and possibly other siblings. This will make your guest list GROW! Just remember to always state on the invite to please RSVP so that you are aware of the total count.
  • Another toddler birthday party ideas can be for you to just have a party for family members only, favorite aunts and uncles and cousins. Your toddler will be just as happy seeing Grandma and all of the family there to share the special day. This can make for an awesome party just as well. A BIGGER party will not always mean better. So you decide your comfort level and build on that. Your toddler will be happy regardless.

PLANNING The Party

  • You should start planning the toddler birthday party ideas 6 to 8 weeks in advance. This should be plenty of time for you get all of your toddler birthday party ideas together. You will be able to plan the party games and the decorations. Don’t forget about the party favors and even the goodie bags. It takes time to get all of the “party stuff” together and by giving yourself this much time in advance you should be able to put it together in that time frame.

INVITATIONS for the Birthday Party

  • I am a HUGE invitation person. This is the reason why you must choose your theme first. Now it truly depends on you because some people just like to get basic invites and that is great too. That’s what is so great about planning your own party. You can choose invitations that compliment your party theme. You can choose the pre-printed kind that matches your party theme or else have them custom made. Look into the custom made ones. They are really not as expensive as you think. I purchased mine on E-bay. You can pick the theme and what you want them to say. This was so much easier than writing out invitations by hand. A real time saver in my opinion and they looked so nice. I still receive comments about his invitations.
